“Be considerate of the aftermath. We spend so much time with our training money and our training time around training for that moment, but the moment lasts just seconds. The aftermath lasts the rest of your life.” — John Daub
It is an early Monday morning. You’ve just returned home from the gym and are using the bathroom before hopping into the shower, when you hear a male voice yelling outside, followed by your wife screaming from the other room, ready or not, it’s now time to act.
This isn’t the setup for an IDPA stage, but is instead the reality that our guest, John Daub, was faced with on the morning of January 5th, 2015 when the front door to his home was violently kicked in by an unknown intruder.
Listen as John recounts what happened that day, as well as some of his lessons. For a detailed write up of the event from John, himself, you can read his personal account of the events on his blog: Regarding the Events of January 5, 2015.
