“Concealment is a challenge. It’s made up of a number of different things, that can ultimately lead to success, but it requires that you do some research, tinker with your holsters, gun placement, clothing materials, and even clothing style.” – Tessah, Armed and Styled

Joining us for the first time on Ballistic Radio is Tessah, the owner of Armed and Styled, and Director of Customer Development at PHLster Holsters. Listen as John and Tessah discuss the different aspects of concealment from holster choice to the nerdery of fabric selection. What role does fabric choice play in concealment? What fabric is best for this application? All that and more! Ballistic Radio is brought to you by Big Tex Ordnance, where every customer is a friend, not just an order.
This is incredible. This is incredible.

These people are my family. If you saw us standing These people are my family. If you saw us standing next to each other you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell, but I feel every bit as strongly about that connection as I would if we shared common genetic material, more so in fact. I am so thankful that I got time with them this last weekend, and even more grateful that another member of my family, @tamarakeel snagged a picture of us.
A few weeks ago I picked this @official_staccato20 A few weeks ago I picked this @official_staccato2011 P DUO up and immediately (less than 24 hours later) ran it through Gabe White’s AMAZINGLY EXCELLENT two day Pistol Shooting Solutions class held at @impactshootingcenter Special thanks to @2011yoda for giving me the opportunity to get some time on a gun I’m seeing much more frequently in @citizensdefenseresearch classes. Also, massive shoutout to @phlster for their LB Enigma and @modlitesystems PL350 Floodlight. Between excellent instruction from Gabe and support gear that was set on “easy mode” I managed to perform pretty well that weekend. On an unrelated note, if you’re looking for some Ballistic Radio SWAG show sponsor @bigtexordnance is doing something pretty cool…
How basic am I? Even my @phlster is pumpkin-spice. How basic am I? Even my @phlster is pumpkin-spice. Bought my @modlitesystems PL350 from show sponsor @bigtexordnance and it showed up today (fast shipping!) So far, I dig it.
Just finished this book and I thought I’d take t Just finished this book and I thought I’d take the time to share the very first book review I’ve ever written. Something I’ll add here, that I didn’t put in the general review, the violence is very well done. The author knows what’s up, and is a member of the training community.

Full Disclosure: The author has been an acquaintance of mine for several years.

Blood and Whispers is part murder mystery and part psychological profile, set in a modern world where magic exists, and it doesn’t like you very much.

The book does an excellent job of being entertaining while also taking the concept of an origin story, and approaching it from a rarely seen angle.

When we meet him, The protagonist isn’t searching for power, he’s already got it. He’s not looking for dragons to slay, they’re already dead. He’s not hungry for glory, he’s earned that and found it chafes. Instead we meet a man whose greatest enemy, is himself.

I *greatly* enjoyed the author’s effort at examining the emotional toll wielding the power of creation might take on a man after several lifetimes, and enjoyed even more seeing what would force such a man to reenter the world again.

If you enjoy Jim Butcher, or Lev Grossman, and would have liked to have seen Hermit Luke figure out his issues without suckling from a space manatee and turning into a pacifist, you’ll probably really enjoy this book.

I’m incredibly hopeful the author continues the series, as I’m excited to see what comes next.

You can buy the book here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1982125233/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_2YHZFZXBEC4SDQ4E1RPY
