In re the 9mm 1911: Springfield has had good success with that platform. Magazines need a spacer inside because the rounds are shorter, and in this case a ramped barrel is actually a good idea from what I’ve seen. Colt’s 1911s in 9mm don’t use the ramped barrel however and my experience with one of the large rollmark “1991” Government models in Parabellum was excellent. Used it at steel shoots for many years without a malfunction.
